The competition consists of two stages. Stage 1 is an online MCQ-based Screening Test. Stage 2 is an offline Subjective-Based Main Examination, conducted for candidates who qualify in Stage 1.

Performance in Stage 1 is a qualifying round. Final rankings are determined solely based on marks obtained in the Stage 2 Main Examination, assessing conceptual understanding, problem-solving ability, and analytical skills.
