How entries are judged
Evaluated on technical proficiency, rhythmic accuracy (laya), tala adherence, quality of improvisation (korvai and neraval execution), and adherence to classical Carnatic tradition. Emotional expression (bhava) and stage presence are also considered.
Selection process
Participants are ranked by cumulative judging scores across all evaluation criteria. First, Second, Third, and Consolation prizes are awarded in the Senior Percussion category. Exceptional performers may receive the Yuva Kala Rathna title.
