Rounds & format
The competition has four stages: 1. Branch Level - Written Test: An initial general knowledge written test is conducted in schools. 2. Branch Level - Quiz Competition: Teams formed from top performers of the written test compete in a quiz. 3. Prant (State) Level: Winning teams from the branch level compete in a quiz. 4. All India Level: State-level winners compete in the final national quiz competition.
How entries are judged
Scoring is based on correct answers. Each question typically carries one mark. In oral quiz rounds, 10 marks are awarded for correct answers in general subjects, and 5 marks for correct answers in rapid-fire rounds. Zero marks for wrong or unanswered questions. Tie-breaking is based on performance in rapid-fire or buzzer rounds.
Selection process
Students who score first and second in the written test at the school level form teams. Winning teams at each subsequent level (branch, state, regional) qualify for the next stage of the competition.
