About This Opportunity

The Wellness Wave AI Robo Challenge is Track 2 of the international Codeavour competition, focusing on the theme 'Tech for a Healthier Tomorrow'. Participants are tasked with building a robot using the Quarky kit and programming it with PictoBlox to navigate an arena and solve missions related to health and well-being, inspired by UN Sustainable Development Goal 3.

This competition is open to students from ages 7 to 18, who can participate in teams of two or three members. The challenge is structured into three age categories: Elementary (7-10 years), Junior (11-14 years), and Senior (15-18 years), allowing students to compete against their peers.

Participants gain invaluable hands-on experience in robotics, AI, and coding, while developing critical 21st-century skills like problem-solving, strategic thinking, and teamwork. Winners receive global recognition, certificates, and a share of prizes and mentorship opportunities, enhancing their academic and career portfolios.

The challenge requires teams to build a robot within specific size and weight limits (20x20x20 cm, max 1kg) and use it to complete eight different missions on a dedicated arena mat. The competition involves regional, national, and international rounds, culminating in a grand showdown for the top teams.

Rounds & format

The competition is structured in multiple stages: Regional, National, and the International Showdown. Teams first compete at a regional level (takes place in various cities in India), and winners advance to the national stage. The top teams from the national level qualify for the grand finale, the International Showdown.

How entries are judged

Projects are evaluated based on the robot's design and construction, the efficiency and creativity of the code, the robot's performance in solving the arena challenges, teamwork, and the overall strategy used to complete the missions.

Selection process

Teams are selected to advance to the next round based on their cumulative scores from the challenges completed in the arena. The highest-scoring teams from the regional and national rounds qualify for the subsequent stages.
