About This Opportunity
The CREST International Spell Bee (CISB) Summer Round is an online assessment designed to improve students' skills in spelling, meaning, and pronunciation of English words. It helps students foster their lexical development, which forms the basis of the English language. The exam is designed by English language experts and is proctored online.
This competition is open to students from KG to Grade 8, studying in any Indian-recognized educational board such as CBSE, ICSE, or State Board. Students residing outside of India are also eligible to participate. The CREST International Spell Bee Summer is conducted in two levels, with qualification for Level 2 depending on the marks obtained in Level 1.
Participating in the CREST International Spell Bee builds confidence in spelling, pronunciation, and meaning comprehension. It enhances word recognition skills through an engaging and structured format. The competition prepares students for competitive exams like SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and Olympiads.
The exam consists of two sections: Spell Bee and Rapid Fire. The Oxford Learner's Dictionary is used as a reference for spellings and meanings. The exam is conducted online and includes multiple-choice and audio-based questions.

What's covered
The CREST International Spell Bee competition syllabus is uploaded on the website for students in grades KG-8. The exam syllabus consists of interesting sections like Word Champ, Spell Spies, Sound Check, Spellacadabra, Spell-o-Spell, Word Connection, Word Makeup, Mingle-Mangle, PictureSpeak, etc. Students can also find a Spell Bee words list on the syllabus page. A separate word list is there for each grade. About 80% of questions will come from the given Spell Bee words list.
