The competition consists of two levels. Level 1 is open to all eligible candidates. Students who meet the minimum qualifying criteria in Level 1 will proceed to Level 2. Specific dates for Level 1 and Level 2 exams are announced annually.

Participants are judged on their ability to solve multiple-choice questions accurately and quickly. The exam assesses logical skills, aptitude, and the ability to perform mathematical operations without a calculator. There is no negative marking since 2025.
