About This Opportunity
The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme (CTSSS) is a prestigious initiative by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The scheme aims to identify and nurture young talent in traditional Indian art forms by providing financial support for their training and development.
Open to children aged 10-14, the scholarship supports training in diverse art forms including Hindustani and Carnatic music, classical and folk dance, theatre and drama, painting, sculpture, and traditional crafts. A total of 650 scholarships are awarded annually across these categories.
Each selected scholar receives an annual stipend of Rs 3,600 along with tuition fee reimbursement up to Rs 9,000 per year. The scholarship is initially granted for two years and can be renewed based on continued progress in the art form.
The scheme operates through a nationwide network of schools and cultural organizations, with applications submitted offline through prescribed forms. Expert panels evaluate candidates based on practical demonstration of talent in their respective art disciplines.
