About This Opportunity

The Global Youth Leadership Academy (GYLA) offers a world-class educational and experiential learning program specifically designed for high school students aged 15 to 18. This intensive seven-day program focuses on developing global and cultural awareness, essential leadership skills, and a strong commitment to servant leadership. It aims to empower young individuals to become future leaders and social entrepreneurs.

Participants will engage in a variety of educational activities, including leadership training, communication workshops, and exercises for interpersonal growth. The program emphasizes direct experience through interactions with international delegates, exemplary leaders, and influential institutions, fostering a deep sense of connection and ownership in their learning journey.

How to apply

  1. 1Students must complete an online application for initial review.
  2. 2Accepted applicants will be notified via email to schedule a phone interview with a GYLA staff member; parents are welcome to join.
  3. 3Acceptance notifications are sent within 5 days of the interview.
  4. 4Accepted students receive a welcome packet with additional information and forms, along with a deposit form.
  5. 5A $1,000 deposit and completed forms packet are required to officially reserve a spot in the program.

Fees & financial support

Fee details

The program fee is $9975. This fee includes hotel accommodations, all meals during the program, unique cultural experiences, 24/7 staff supervision, program materials, books, activities, excursions, and transportation from the arrival airport, during the week-long tour, and to the departure airport. A commemorative sweatshirt and other gifts are also included. A non-refundable application fee of $50 may also be required. A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve a spot.

Financial support

Scholarships are available for outstanding candidates, particularly from developing countries and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Funds are sought from bilateral governments, academic institutions, enterprises, and youth foundations to support these scholarships.

Refund policy

Payments are non-refundable once made, except as specified under the Refund Policy. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days after the program's last day, and refunds will not exceed the amount paid by the participant.
