About This Opportunity
The Hands-On Laboratory Workshops programme offers school students a direct, practical experience of classical science disciplines through structured laboratory sessions. Covering seven topic areas — Astronomy, Botany, Chemistry, Electricity, Mechanics, Magnetism, and Optics — each topic is delivered across 5 sessions of 3 hours each.
Designed for students in grades 8 to 10, the workshops prioritise learning by doing, with participants conducting guided experiments under supervision. Each cohort is limited to 25-30 students per session, ensuring individual attention and meaningful participation. Students who complete a workshop topic receive a participation certificate.
Workshops are available during vacation batches — summer, Diwali, and Christmas — and run on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in registrations are accepted at the venue from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The programme is free of charge.
Note: This programme is operated by The Nehru Centre (nehrucentremumbai.in), a cultural institution in Mumbai distinct from Nehru Science Centre Mumbai (nehrusciencecentre.gov.in). CMS reviewers should verify the correct provider mapping before publishing.
