About This Opportunity
The Harvard Crimson Global Case Competition (HCGCC) is a premier virtual business competition for high school students worldwide. It offers a unique platform for aspiring leaders to tackle real-world business challenges faced by global companies, allowing them to step into the roles of consultants and CEOs to develop and present innovative strategies.
Open to students aged 13-18, the competition requires teams of two to four members. HCGCC helps participants develop valuable skills in critical thinking, financial analysis, and public speaking, significantly enhancing university applications and career prospects. No prior business experience is required, as on-demand learning resources and expert-led webinars are available to all participants.

Rounds & format
The competition consists of three main rounds: a Regional Qualifiers round requiring a PDF presentation submission, a Regional Finals round where top teams submit a 5-minute video pitch, and a live, virtual Global Finals round where the final teams present a new case to judges.
How entries are judged
Submissions are evaluated based on issue diagnostics, depth of analysis, scope of innovation, feasibility of recommendations, presentation logic, engaging speaking, and teamwork.
Selection process
In the Qualifying Round, the top 50 teams (10 from each of the 5 regions) advance. From the Regional Round, the top 10 teams (2 from each region) advance to the Global Finals.
How to apply
- 1Students must first register individually on the official HCGCC website.
- 2After individual registration and payment, participants can find teammates through a dedicated Discord channel.
- 3A nominated team leader must then submit a 'Team Registration Form' to finalize the team.
- 4All team members must be individually registered before the team form is submitted to avoid disqualification.
