About This Opportunity
The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an internationally recognized two-year pre-university curriculum designed for students aged 16 to 19 in Grades 11 and 12. Offered exclusively through authorized IB World Schools, the programme combines rigorous academic study across six subject groups with three core components: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), an Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
Students choose one subject from each of the six groups — Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts — studying three subjects at Higher Level and three at Standard Level. Each subject is scored on a 1–7 scale, with the core components contributing up to 3 additional points, for a maximum total score of 45.
In India, there are over 170 IB World Schools authorized to offer the Diploma Programme. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) officially recognizes the IB Diploma as equivalent to the Plus Two (10+2) Senior Secondary qualification, making students eligible for undergraduate admissions across Indian universities. Students may also appear for entrance examinations for engineering, medicine, management, and law programs in India.
A student enrolls in the IBDP through an authorized IB World School after completing Grade 10, and the programme concludes with external assessments at the end of Grade 12. Results are declared each July. The programme is widely regarded as excellent preparation for competitive university applications worldwide, with students gaining admission to leading universities across India and internationally.
