About This Opportunity

INME Skill Building Camps provide a unique opportunity for children to engage with nature and develop essential life skills through a variety of outdoor and adventure activities. Prerequisites

  • Basic physical fitness is recommended.

Additional requirements

  • Participants should be physically fit enough for outdoor activities. It is recommended to do 30 minutes of running or playing a sport at least three weeks before the program to get comfortable with physical exertion.
  • Participants are encouraged to be open to new experiences and stepping out of their comfort zone.

Open to children aged 9 to 17 years (typically Grades 4-12). Participants should be physically fit for outdoor adventure activities. Camps are held at various residential locations across India, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Trainers

Instructors are highly trained, Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certified, and undergo rigorous selection and training processes. Many are certified advanced mountaineers from institutes like Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, or Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. They are trained in physical and emotional safety, gender sensitivity, and wilderness medicine.

Fees & financial support

Fee details

Specific program fees vary by camp duration, location, and activities. Fees range from ₹34,900 for some 6-day camps (9-11 year olds) to ₹44,900 for 7-10 day camps (10-17 year olds) and expeditions. The highest fee for a single program is ₹84,900 for the Deep Sea Adventure - Andamans. Additional costs may include travel to and from camp departure points and optional airport pick-up/drop-off services. Early bird discounts may be available for registrations completed well in advance of the camp start date.

Financial support

INME does not currently offer scholarships for these skill-building camps.

Refund policy

A 10% deduction applies for cancellations up to 16 days before departure. Cancellations between 11-15 days before departure incur a 25% deduction. A 50% deduction applies for cancellations between 6-10 days before departure. No refund is provided for cancellations 0-5 days before departure. Specific programs like 'Triple Trouble @ Rishikesh', 'Deep Sea Adventure', 'Scuba Diving Adventure', and 'Surf 'n' Turf' have a 100% deduction for cancellations less than 9 days before departure.
