About This Opportunity

The Indian Robotic Olympiad (IRO) ROBO Adventures Techies category is a national competition by ROBO-G for young innovators in India. Participants are tasked with designing, building, and programming an autonomous robot to address complex environmental challenges, specifically focusing on lake conservation.

This competition is open to students aged 10-15 years, typically corresponding to grades 5-10. Participants can compete individually or in teams of two. The competition utilizes specific robotics kits, such as the Arduino Alvik kit for in-person events and LEGO bricks for online participation, ensuring a standardized yet creative approach to problem-solving.

Participants will gain valuable hands-on experience in robotics, programming, and problem-solving. The competition fosters critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, which are essential skills for future careers in STEM fields. Winners receive national recognition, trophies, medals, and ranking certificates, while all participants receive certificates acknowledging their efforts and engagement.

The IRO offers both online and in-person participation modes, providing flexibility for students across India. The in-person national competition is typically held in Bangalore, while online participants submit video demonstrations of their robot's performance.
