About This Opportunity

The International Computer Olympiad (ICO), also known as Cyber Olympiad, Informatics Olympiad, or Digital Olympiad, is an annual competition organized by Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO) for students in Classes 1 to 10. The primary objective of this exam is to foster an interest in computer science, train young minds, and prepare them for the increasingly digital world.

The ICO focuses on cutting-edge computer technology and its fundamentals, covering topics such as computer usage, basic language, hardware, software, components, and applications like MS Paint, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access, alongside mental aptitude and logical thinking.

The exam is conducted offline in participating schools across India. It aims to develop analytical and problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of computer concepts beyond the regular school curriculum.

Rounds & format

The International Computer Olympiad (ICO) by Indian Talent Olympiad is a two-round national-level exam. The first round is conducted offline in participating schools. Students who qualify in Round 1 are eligible for Round 2, which is the final level. Online exams are also available for individual registrations, with two slots (e.g., December and January).

How entries are judged

Based on the number of correct answers in the objective-type examination. For Classes 1-4, there are 35 questions (20 subjective, 10 logical reasoning, 5 HOTs). For Classes 5-10, there are 50 questions (35 subjective, 10 logical reasoning, 5 HOTs). Each question carries 1 mark.

Selection process

Students are selected based on their performance in the written examination. Top performers receive ranks and awards at national, state, and district levels.

  1. 1Students can register through their respective schools by providing their names to the subject teacher before the last date. Individual registration is also available online through the Indian Talent Olympiad website.

Fees & financial support

Fee details

The participation fee is ₹175 per student per subject when registering through school. Schools retain ₹25 per student for their expenses, sending ₹150 to ITO. Individual online registration fee is ₹240 per subject. Students qualifying for the 2nd round pay an additional fee of ₹100 (for school registrations) or ₹120 (for individual registrations).

Financial support

Scholarships of ₹4,000 are awarded to 200 students for excellence in the International Computer Olympiad. Additional scholarships are available for State Rank 1-10 holders across various Olympiads.

Refund policy

All registration fees and subscription charges are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. Once payment is made, it is considered final. No refunds will be provided for missed exams or tests.
