Rounds & format

Round 1 is conducted in two slots (December and January) for online exams, and in November for offline exams. Students qualifying in Round 1 can appear for Round 2 (Final Round).

How entries are judged

Ranks are determined based on total marks scored. In case of a tie, priority is given to marks scored in specific sections (Everyday Mathematics, Mathematical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning for IMO) and then by the time taken to complete the exam. Negative marking (0.25) may be used as a tie-breaker.

Selection process

Students fulfilling either of the following criteria qualify for the 2nd level: Class-wise top 20% of students who appear for the 1st level exam (with due priority to marks scored in different sections), or Class topper (where a minimum of 10 students from a class appear and score at least 50% marks).

Students registering through their schools pay ₹175 per subject, with the school retaining ₹25 for administrative expenses and remitting ₹150 to ITO. Students qualifying for the 2nd round need to pay an additional registration fee of ₹120 for individual registrations or ₹100 for school registrations. Special offers include free registration for the 4th exam if registering for 3, and free registration for the 5th and 6th exams if registering for 4 (workbook fees may still apply).
