About This Opportunity

The Mekathlon Robotics Innovation Challenge is a premier national platform for young innovators to tackle real-world problems using robotics and technology. Participants select a theme, such as smart healthcare or sustainable agriculture, and then design, build, and present a functional robotic prototype that offers a creative and impactful solution.

Open to students from Grade 3 to 12, the competition is structured into 'Developers' (Grades 3-7) and 'Innovators' (Grades 8-12) categories, ensuring a fair and exciting challenge. The competition unfolds in zonal rounds across major Indian cities, with top teams advancing to a national Grand Finale, providing a stage to showcase talent and gain invaluable hands-on experience in STEM.

Academic requirement

Students must be enrolled in a recognized school.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of robotics concepts is recommended but not mandatory.
  • No formal prerequisites are required, but a basic interest in robotics and problem-solving is highly recommended.

Additional requirements

  • Participation is limited to specific cities for the zonal rounds.
  • Participation in offline zonal rounds is required in one of the specified cities.

Open to students from Grade 3 to 12, grouped into two categories: Developers (Grades 3-7) and Innovators (Grades 8-12). Zonal rounds are held in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Sonipat, Pune and Bengaluru.

How entries are judged

Projects are evaluated based on Innovation & Creativity (20%), Problem Relevance (20%), Technical Execution (30%), Scalability & Sustainability (15%), and Presentation & Teamwork (15%).

Selection process

Selection is based on the innovation, functionality, and real-world applicability of the robotic prototype as demonstrated and presented to the judges. The top 6 teams from each zonal round are selected for the final.

Fee details

The registration fee for Indian residents is ₹999 per team (inclusive of GST). For non-India residents, the fee is $50 per team.
