About This Opportunity
The National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) is a nationwide initiative by the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) aimed at enhancing financial literacy among school students across India. Launched in 2013-14, this annual assessment helps students develop crucial financial skills for making informed decisions throughout their lives. It covers fundamental concepts across various financial domains, preparing them for real-world financial challenges.
NFLAT is open to students from Class 6 to Class 12 who are enrolled in schools affiliated with recognized educational boards in India. The test is structured into three categories: NFLAT Junior for Classes 6-8, NFLAT Intermediate for Classes 9-10, and NFLAT Senior for Classes 11-12. Participation is primarily facilitated through school registration, as individual registrations are generally not accepted.
Participants gain valuable knowledge in personal finance, including effective money management, understanding banking operations, insurance principles, investment strategies, and taxation basics. All students who participate receive an e-certificate based on their performance, with special merit and outstanding certificates awarded to those achieving higher scores. This test helps students develop critical life skills necessary to navigate the financial world effectively and responsibly.
The assessment is conducted online and is available in both English and Hindi, ensuring accessibility for a wider student base. It serves as a free and accessible tool for financial education, promoting awareness about various financial instruments and fostering responsible money management habits from a young age.
