About This Opportunity

The National School of Drama's Summer Theatre Workshop for Children is one of India's most prestigious theatre training programmes for young learners. Conducted every summer at NSD's campus in New Delhi, this intensive workshop exposes children aged 8 to 16 to the full spectrum of theatrical arts under the guidance of NSD faculty and guest artists.

The workshop covers movement and body awareness, voice training and diction, improvisation, storytelling, mask work, puppetry, and scripted performance. Faculty from NSD's professional team lead daily sessions, and participants work towards a final performance presented on the last day. The structured curriculum is designed to build confidence, creativity, communication, and collaborative skills through theatre practice.

Participants do not need prior theatre experience — the workshop is open to all children within the age range who are curious about performing arts. The programme runs from late May through June, aligned with school summer breaks.

A certificate of participation is awarded by NSD upon completion. For young performers, this workshop provides direct access to India's national drama school environment, professional theatre methodologies, and a community of like-minded peers from across the country.
