About This Opportunity
The Pioneer Research Institute/Program by Pioneer Academics is an 8-week online mentorship programme that connects high school students in grades 9 to 12 with university faculty for authentic academic research.
Students are individually matched with a faculty mentor based on their research interests and work collaboratively to develop a research question, conduct a literature review, gather and analyse data, and produce a scholarly paper. Research areas span natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and mathematics. Upon successful programme completion, students earn 4 college credits that are transferable to Oberlin College or the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, providing a significant advantage in college admissions.
The programme is highly selective, admitting students based on academic merit and demonstrated intellectual curiosity. Need-based financial aid is available through partnerships with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and QuestBridge.
