About This Opportunity

The Rise Global Challenge is an initiative by Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust that identifies brilliant young people and provides them with opportunities for life. The program seeks individuals with innovative ideas and a strong commitment to serving others, offering resources to help them build a better world. It is not just a one-time award but a lifelong network of support and development for 100 Global Winners selected each year.

This opportunity is open to students worldwide between the ages of 15 and 17, from all academic disciplines including science, art, technology, and community organizing. The selection process is holistic, looking for brilliance, perseverance, integrity, empathy, and a calling to make a difference, regardless of an applicant's background. Winners receive a lifetime of benefits, including a needs-based university scholarship, mentorship, career services, and funding for their innovative projects.
