What's covered
The robot needs to search through a maze for victims. The robot should not find the fastest path through the maze; instead, it should explore as much of the maze as possible. The robot will get points for each victim found and deliver a rescue kit close to the victim. The robot must avoid areas with a black floors.

Rounds & format
The competition is typically held in two stages: Regional qualifiers followed by a National championship. Teams must first compete and qualify at their respective zonal/regional events to advance to the national level.
How entries are judged
Scoring is based on a point system. Points are awarded for: exploring maze tiles, successfully identifying victims (visual or colored), delivering rescue kits near victims, and receiving an 'exit bonus' for returning to the start after exploring the maze. Points may be deducted for restarts.
Selection process
Teams are selected for the national and international levels based on their performance and scores in the regional and national competitions, respectively. A panel of experts may also interview teams to assess their technical knowledge and teamwork.
