About This Opportunity

Robofest India Vision Centric Challenge (VCC) is an advanced computer vision and autonomous mobile robotics competition. Formerly known as the Mini Urban Challenge, VCC challenges students to build robots that use cameras to maneuver through obstacle courses, drive along realistic roads, stop at traffic lights drawn on the road, and recognize traffic signs autonomously.

The 2026 theme is the Robo-Driver Traffic Sign Challenge, where robots must recognize and respond to traffic signs while navigating a course. This Senior-only competition (Classes 9-12) requires knowledge of computer vision, autonomous navigation, and sensor integration. Any robotics kit and programming language may be used.

The VCC Technical Committee includes Dr. Vijay John, Devson Butani, Dr. CJ Chung (VCC founder), Dr. Mohammad Hassanzadeh, and Dr. Tao Liu. Winners from Robofest India qualify to represent India at the Robofest World Championship, with scholarship opportunities at Lawrence Technological University valued up to $80,000.
