About This Opportunity

The Smart India Hackathon Junior (SIH Junior) is a national-level competition organized by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell and AICTE. Participants choose a theme and develop solutions.

Winning teams receive cash prizes. The first prize can be up to ₹25,000 per team. Second and third prizes are also awarded.

How entries are judged

Ideas are evaluated based on novelty, complexity, clarity, detailed documentation, feasibility, practicability, sustainability, scale of impact, user experience, and potential for future work progression.

Selection process

Teams are shortlisted based on the innovativeness and viability of their submitted ideas. Top-performing ideas from each state and UT are selected for the Grand Finale. In the final, the same factors should be considered when choosing the winners.

  3. 3Shortlisted teams proceed to the Grand Finale, which may require travel to an assigned nodal center.
