About This Opportunity

The STEMpreneur competition by Kr8ivity League invites young innovators across India to combine their passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with entrepreneurial thinking. Participants are challenged to identify pressing real-world problems, engineer technological solutions, and develop comprehensive business plans for their innovations.

The competition encourages exploration of themes aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as Healthcare, Environment, Education, Agriculture & Food Security, Urbanization & Infrastructure, and Social Challenges. Students will engage in in-depth research, brainstorm creative solutions, create detailed business plans, and build prototypes or proofs of concept.

This program aims to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation, preparing students to become future leaders and entrepreneurs who can drive positive change in India and globally.

The competition progresses through multiple rigorous rounds, including an initial problem identification and solution proposal, followed by dedicated mentorship sessions, and culminating in a final presentation of the refined business model and functional prototype to a panel of expert judges.

Academic requirement

Students with a strong interest and passion for STEM fields and entrepreneurial thinking who are studying in all recognized boards.

Prerequisites

  • Basic understanding of scientific principles and technological concepts.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyze information.
  • Interest in problem-solving and developing innovative solutions.

Additional requirements

  • Must form a team of 3 players.
  • Each team must have a mentor.
  • Can participate via school or independently.
  • Must form a team of exactly 3 members.
  • Each team must secure a mentor (teacher, parent, or industry professional).
  • Participants can register either through their school or independently as a student team.

Open to Indian students in Grades 9-12 (ages 14-18) nationwide. Participants must form teams of three maximum, each with a mentor. Both school-affiliated and independent teams are eligible. A genuine passion for STEM and entrepreneurship is essential.

Rounds & format

Round 1 (Aankalan): Problem identification and technological solution proposal with a viable business plan. Round 2 (Margdarshan): Online mentorship sessions for students. Round 3 (Parikshan): Presentation of updated business model and engineered solution/prototype to judges. Round 4 Grand Finale (Udaan): All-India level competition for top zonal teams.

How entries are judged

Evaluation based on problem identification, research, innovation, feasibility and scalability of the solution, detailed business plan, prototype viability, and presentation.
