About This Opportunity
The Tata Building India School Essay Competition is a prestigious nationwide initiative by the Tata Group, designed to inspire young minds to think about nation-building. This annual competition provides a unique platform for students in Classes 6-12 to express their thoughts and ideas on topics of national significance through essay writing.
The competition typically involves two phases: an initial phase where students are exposed to inspirational films, followed by an essay writing session on a given theme. Essays are evaluated at school, city, and national levels by independent academic and literary experts. The competition aims to foster social responsibility, leadership, and good citizenship among the youth of India. It encourages students to research, reflect, and articulate their vision for a better India, promoting critical thinking and a sense of civic duty.
Prizes are awarded at each level, with national winners receiving significant recognition and opportunities, including a potential visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan and a meeting with a national dignitary. TCS iON, a division of Tata Consultancy Services, is responsible for executing this competition across India.
The Tata Group, founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868, is a global enterprise headquartered in India, comprising over 100 companies across various sectors.
