About This Opportunity

The VIT Mathematical Model Exhibition is a prominent national competition organized by the Department of Mathematics, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT, Vellore. Held as part of the annual VIT Mathematical Meet, this event aims to cultivate a deep interest in mathematics, identify young talent, and encourage creative problem-solving among school students across India. Participants will design and present models based on relevant themes such as Mathematics and Climate Change, Mathematics in Water Resource Management, or Mathematics in Sustainable Urban Development.

This exhibition welcomes school students nationwide, specifically those in grades 6-12. The competition is structured into three levels: Level I for grades 6-8, Level II for grades 9-10, and Level III for grades 11-12. Each participating team must comprise exactly three members. There are no restrictions on the number of teams a single school can nominate, promoting widespread participation and a healthy competitive environment.

Participants can achieve significant recognition and rewards, including cash prizes and merit certificates for winners, with a total prize pool exceeding ₹1,00,000. All competent participants will also receive consolation prizes, ensuring that effort and participation are acknowledged. This event offers a unique platform to apply theoretical mathematical concepts to practical scenarios, enhance competitive skills, and gain invaluable experience in presenting innovative ideas to an expert panel.

For outstation participants and their accompanying individuals, accommodation facilities are available upon prior request. The exhibition strongly emphasizes hands-on learning and the practical application of mathematical principles to address contemporary global challenges, providing a holistic learning experience.

Fee details

The registration fee is ₹118 per student, which includes ₹100 for the fee and 18% GST. This fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
