About This Opportunity
Wipro Earthian is a comprehensive sustainability education program for schools across India, initiated by Wipro Foundation in collaboration with partners like C.P.R. Environmental Education Centre. The program encourages students to engage with pressing environmental issues such as climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and waste management through activity-based learning and project submissions. It aims to integrate sustainability thinking into the school curriculum and empower young minds to drive positive change.
Participation is open to students from Standard/Grade 6th to 12th in any school across India. Students form teams of 2 to 5 members, guided by a teacher facilitator. The program emphasizes hands-on activities, research, and documentation, allowing students to explore sustainability themes within their school campuses and local communities.
Participants gain valuable skills in teamwork, observation, research, analysis, and creative problem-solving. Winning teams receive cash prizes, mementos, and certificates, with national and regional recognition for their innovative projects. All participating teams that submit projects receive a participation certificate, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental issues and promoting a sustainable way of life.
The program also offers continuous engagement opportunities and teacher training workshops to build institutional capacity in sustainability education. It aims to connect classroom learning with real-world environmental challenges, encouraging students to develop solutions for a sustainable future.

Rounds & format

In Part B, they need to write an analytical essay of around 2,500 words. The top 20 teams will be selected as the winning team.
How entries are judged
Projects are evaluated based on the genuineness of the activity, creativity in documentation, how well activities are connected, how well broader connections to sustainability are drawn, and understanding/presentation of issues.
Selection process
Selection is based on the quality and impact of the submitted project reports, demonstrating a deep understanding of the chosen sustainability theme and innovative solutions.
How to apply
- 1Schools register for the program, and teachers facilitate team formation. Registration is typically done via a Google Form link shared during orientation workshops or by sending an email with team details to the program coordinator.
