About This Opportunity
The Youth Climate Conclave (YCC) is The Energy and Resources Institute's flagship youth engagement program on climate change. Launched in 2019 under the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, it brings young Indians together to deliberate on climate science, impacts, mitigation, and adaptation alongside policymakers, scientists, and youth leaders.
The conclave is open to Indian youth in two age categories: 10 to 18 years and 19 to 25 years, regardless of background, gender, or ability. Participation is typically through associated competitions (photography, blogging, short video, debate) and direct registration for the in-person conclave at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Participants attend panel discussions and keynote speeches, an educational field trip to TERI Retreat, Climate Fresk interactive sessions, a debate competition, and a photography exhibition. The program culminates in collaborative drafting of a Youth Pledge that is formally presented at the World Sustainable Development Summit.
Knowledge partners include the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the EU Delegation to India, GIZ, CEEW, and Climate Fresk. Past editions have hosted youth from 12+ states, offering direct engagement with policymakers and a national platform for climate voices.
