Fees & financial support

Fee details

Program tuition varies by country and program length. For example, a year program in the USA costs USD 13535. Other costs not covered include visa fees, visa-related expenses, monthly allowance (approximately $200 USD per month for personal spending and transportation), school uniforms, textbooks, and domestic travel to the international departure airport. An initial application fee of $100 USD is due, followed by a $750 USD deposit upon full application submission. The full program fee must be paid a minimum of 90 days before departure.

Financial support

YFU offers various scholarship opportunities, including merit-based scholarships, need-based financial aid, and Legacy Grants. These can be full or partial scholarships. Scholarships are also funded by governments, such as the Japanese Government scholarships for study in Japan. Students are encouraged to contact their local YFU organization for specific scholarship details, application deadlines, and selection criteria.
