About
HelpChess Foundation, also known as the ChessBase India Foundation, is the charitable arm of ChessBase India. It acts as a bridge between donors and talented Indian chess players who need financial support, so that financial constraints do not prevent young players from pursuing their goals. Founded in 2018 by International Master Sagar Shah and Amruta Mokal, the foundation runs scholarships and fundraisers that cover coaching, tournament travel, study material and equipment for promising Indian players. It is a registered charitable trust with 12A and 80G tax exemption and a CSR registration. The foundation has raised over three crore rupees from more than four thousand donors and supported over seventy players, channelling community contributions directly into the development of Indian chess talent.
