International Mock Trial (IMT)

International Mock Trial (IMT) is an independent, non-profit organization established in 2022 by Max Wang and Iain Lampert. It provides free online mock trial tournaments for high school students globally, utilizing the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) case format. IMT conducts four tournaments annually on a quarterly schedule, each spanning a weekend. Participants engage in four paired rounds, competing for team placements, the Spirit Award, and individual recognitions for Outstanding Attorney and Witness. The organization's commitment ensures competitive mock trial experiences are accessible without financial barriers, as it never charges registration fees. Teams can be formed by students from the same school or as independently assembled groups, fostering diverse participation. The entirely online nature of IMT tournaments makes them accessible to students worldwide, including those in India, offering a unique platform for legal simulation and advocacy skill development. Through its programs, IMT aims to cultivate critical thinking, public speaking, and legal understanding among high school students. The platform provides an invaluable opportunity for young individuals to engage with complex legal concepts and develop essential courtroom skills in a supportive, international environment.
