Tamil Nadu Jawahar Siruvar Manram

Tamil Nadu Jawahar Siruvar Manram (JSM), established in 1979 by the Tamil Nadu government, is dedicated to nurturing children's cultural, creative, and intellectual development. Operating under the Department of Art and Culture, the organization manages a network of JSM centers across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu. The Manram provides structured programs in classical and folk arts, literary activities, and cultural performances for children. These initiatives aim to foster artistic talent and preserve Tamil cultural traditions among younger generations. JSM conducts annual district-level and state-level competitions in various disciplines, including classical vocal and instrumental music, Bharatanatyam, folk dance forms like Karagattam and Oyilattam, and drawing. These free-of-charge competitions offer a significant platform for young talent to gain state-level recognition, with winners receiving cash prizes and government certificates.
